AUTORIDADES TRADICIONAIS MOSTRAM-SE INDIGNADAS COM AS CONSTANTES INTIMIDAÇÕES A JORNALISTAS.
Foi durante uma entrevista exclusiva a Rádio Casimiro, que o Rei da Defesa do Reino do Kongo, mostrou-se indignado com as constantes intimidações a jornalistas, em pleno exercício das suas funções, com realce para o recente caso que culminou na detenção do Jornalista da TV 8, Hermenegildo Caculo, quando cobria uma manifestação da sociedade civil este Sábado, 27 de Abril, nas imediações do São Paulo em Luanda.
“Não acredito que tenham mais uma vez detido um jornalista no pleno exercício da sua profissão de informar com a verdade os factos, principalmente quando são reclamações do soberano povo” criticou o rei.
A falta de espaço nos órgãos públicos que realmente deem voz ao cidadão para expor as suas preocupações, e a imparcialidade com as outras forças políticas na oposição, são igualmente algumas das reclamações que as autoridades tradicionais gostavam de ver resolvidas com brevidade.
Rei João Mavilacana vulgo Mbianda Ngunga em nome das autoridades tradicionais, diz estar solidário com os jornalistas, uma vez que estão apenas a cumprir um dos seus mais nobres ofícios, o de informar “as coisas sobretudo os preços dos produtos alimentares vão aumentando a cada dia que passa, e o povo continua sem poder de compra suficiente face a descontrolada inflação que o país atravessa fruto da má governação” apontou.
Referiu que é chegado o momento de os governantes assumirem o seu real papel que é zelar pelo bem estar das famílias, e não detiver aquele que denúncia as várias injustiças de que o povo tem sido vítima “a fome mata, a fome está a matar muitos angolanos e angolanas, e se as pessoas se manifestam pacificamente, nós achamos que este direito lhes é merecido” finalizou.
O jovem repórter da TV 8 foi detido e tendo consequentemente os seus equipamentos de trabalho retidos, e de seguida levados a 6° Esquadra, cita na zona da Cidadela. Carlos Alberto, é outro que está a cumprir uma pena de prisão no Estabelecimento Penitenciário de Viana, por suposta difamação ao ex Vice Procurador Geral da República Mota Liz.
A TV 8 é um canal de televisão digital pertencente a empresa Mundo Vídeo, do conceituado Jornalista William Tonet, que viu também na samana passada, a sua residência assaltada por elementos ainda não identificados, cuja acção o Sindicato dos Jornalistas Angolanos (SJA), reprova veementemente e insta os órgãos de investigação respostas sobre estes e outros crimes que os jornalistas têm sido alvo com muita intensidade nos últimos tempos.
Angola é o pais lusófono que mais subiu no índice da liberdade de imprensa 2024, segundo o relatório da Organização Repórteres Sem Fronteiras, saindo da posição 125 para 104, com uma queda média global de 7,6 pontos.
